PR. DR. NDRIANA RABARIOELINA : "...TRAVEL WITH THE CLASSICAL GUITAR ..." :
1) "FEON-GITARA" OR THE SONG OF THE GUITAR" :
The Professor BERNARD RAZAFINOHATRA was my first Professor of Classical Guitar with the Methods of Fernando Carulli, Duonisio Aguado and Fernando Sor at the Centre National d'Enseignement de la Musique (CNEM) in Antananarivo, Madagascar in 1975. Professor Bernard Razafinohatra was a Member of the National Committee for the International Music Council of the UNESCO.
Next, I was a disciple of the Great Maestro ETIENNE RAMBOATIANA (1930-2007) called Bouboul since 1976. He was a national composer, lyricist, poet, art painter, historian of the guitar, arranger, contrabassist, trumpetist, classical and jazz guitarist, banjoist, church organist, professor of music, international concertist who traveled in Africa, South America, Europe, India, Middle-East, Asia, and the Indian Ocean.
He composed more than one hundred compositions in many styles of Music (Classical, Traditional, Popular, Variétés, Jazz, Modern, Sacred Music, Church Music, ...) with many music instruments (Guitar, Piano, Flute, Violin, Cello, Vocal, Contrebasse, Valiha, Drums, ...) in many fields (Solo, Duo, Trio, Quatuor, Ensemble, Choir, Chamber Music, Orchestra, ...). He composed two "Concertos for Guitar and Orchestra". He composed a masterpiece called "Feon-Gitara" or "Song of a Guitar" that he specially dedicated to me.
Etienne RAMBOATIANA was the disciple of Professor ROBERT RASON, and he was also a former Church Organist of the Catholic Cathedral of Andohalo before his statute of National Composer. He was the equivalent of the composers Isaac ALBENIZ (1860-1909), Enrique GRANADOS (1867-1916), and Joaquin RODRIGO (1901-1999) in Spain, and Heitor VILLA-LOBOS (1887-1959) in Brazil.
2) TRIBUTE TO ALEXANDRE LAGOYA AND IDA PRESTI :
Then, I studied Classical Guitar in a Master class with Professor ROGER GENERAUX (1941-1978), international concertist and Professor of Classical Guitar at the Conservatoire National de Musique d'Orleans, France.
After that, I studied Classical Guitar with Professor ERIC LAUMET at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Montpellier in 1982-1986. My Professor Eric Laumet is a disciple of MARC FRANCERIES (born in 1936) who earned the 1er Prix de Piano and the 1er Prix de Flute at a Conservatory in Paris and who is the first professor of Classical Guitar at a Conservatory in France, especially at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Toulouse (1966), then at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Lyon. Marc Franceries is a disciple of the famous classical guitarists ALEXANDRE LAGOYA (1929-1999) and IDA PRESTI (1924-1967). Eric Laumet is also a disciple of ALEXANDRE LAGOYA at the Academy of Music in Sienna, Italia.

After that, I met the International Concertist and Maestro ALBERTO PONCE (1935-2019) from Spain, Professor of Classical Guitar, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in 1994. He earned the 1er Prix du Concours International de Guitare Classique de Paris (1962). He was a disciple of the Spanish International Concertist, composer, pedagogue, musicologist, and Maestro EMILIO PUJOL (1886-1980), who was himself a disciple of the Spanish composer, International Concertist and Great Maestro FRANCISCO TARREGA (1852-1909). We talked together about the History of Classical Guitar.
Moreover, I deepened my knowledge in a Masterclass with the International Concertist and Professor EDUARDO EGUEZ from Argentina, 1er Prix du Concours International de Guitare Classique de Paris (1986), and 1st Prize of the Concurso Internacional de Guitarra (Fundacion Guerrerro) in Madrid (1989).
4) UNE CREATION MONDIALE WITH AN ORCHESTRA OF FORTY GUITARS BY THE GREAT MAESTRO ETIENNE RAMBOATIANA :
Among my Best Souvenirs is my performance with the "ORCHESTRA OF 40 GUITARS", composed by the Maestro ETIENNE RAMBOATIANA (1930-2007), a première création mondiale because this was the first time in the History of the Classical Guitar that there are forty guitarists who performed together in a classical concert in the world (Antananarivo, 1978). A performance which was in the Top Niveau Mondial!
Then, my musical interpretation of the "STUDY OF CONCERT N°12" for Classical Guitar composed by the Maestro ETIENNE RAMBOATIANA at the Académie National des Arts, des Sciences, et des Lettres, in Tsimbazaza, Antananarivo. Next, my performance on Solo Guitar of the "CONCERTO N°1 FOR GUITAR AND ORCHESTRA" composed by the Maestro ETIENNE RAMBOATIANA, in Hommage to this Great Maestro, at the Madagascar Hilton, Antananarivo, 1999.
5) TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT MAESTRO ANDRES SEGOVIA :
In addition, my performances of the master works from the "Suites for Lute" of JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH, the "Variations on the Flûte Enchantée" by FERNANDO SOR, "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" (Tremolo) and "Sueno" (Tremolo) of FRANSCISCO TARREGA, "Rumores de la Caleta" and "Asturias" of the Spanish composer ISAAC ALBENIZ, "Five Preludes" and "Twelve Studies of Concert" of the Brazilian composer HEITOR VILLA-LOBOS; "Danza Paraguaya", "La Cathedral" (Tremolo) and "Un Sueno en la Floresta" (Tremolo) of the Paraguayan composer AGUSTIN BARRIOS MANGORE.
Nec plus ultra, among my best souvenirs are my performance of my own compositions called "ADVENTO", "HOMMAGE A HEITOR VILLA LOBOS", "SEGA", "SOUVENIRS OF THE SOUTH OF MADAGASCAR" for Classical Guitar, with the Allegro tempo, using the Tremolo, in the Malagasy feeling, many times in Europe.
Moreover, in France, I had the privilege to play on a "JOSE RAMIREZ 1A" Concert Classical Guitar (the equivalent of the Steinway piano for the Guitar) reserved to the virtuoso and Great Maestro ANDRES SEGOVIA (1893-1987) who was the greatest figure of the Classical Guitarists in the XXth Century.
At the end, Glory to the Lord Zanahary, the Creator of the Universe!
